The single life changing revolution for voyuers out there is of course, social networking sites, better known as Friendster, MySpace, Multiply, etc.

And who I am to rejects these wonderful technological gifts and so embracing it is exactly what I've done. Sometimes with more gusto, especially at times of boredom.

It was just tonight that I sleepily lurking in the realms of "Can I be your friend?" messages and that's when I clicked on this "Friend" whose identity I wasn't very sure of. (Somehow, I seem to have a number of "Friends" which I don't actually know, and I'm not very certain if I authorised them cuz not all of them are good looking.....)

Anyway it turned out to be my Indonesian penpal. In his profile pic were him and a very very good looking girl (which was what really got my attention in the first place) and so I did what every voyeuristic friendster user does, I looked at his photos.

And boy, does the boy like to camwhore. Dozen of self-taken pictures including some groggy looking ones. It was then that it hit me. It takes one to know another. No wonder we're pen pals....

This morning I went for dimsum. It took 2 alarms and my sis & mom to drag me out of bed, but the point is, I made it anyway.

Having dimsum made me so fulfilled. Suddenly my life seemed so much happier and full of great things waiting to happen. I wish I get that kind of euphoria more often. Unfortunately, dimsum doesn't do the trick everytime, only if I have it once in a blue moon.

Anyway the fact that I managed to get up before noon is a great achievement in itself. Of course I went straight back to bed when I got back from breakfast, hehe. And slept till 2pm, which isn't actually something to shout about.

Unfortunately, that high from this morning doesn't last long. In the dumps now, inexplicably. Fortunately, this is the first time my mood swing's been acting so erratically this semester. I guess this is the first time this semester when I'm actually sitting down and thinking instead of distracting myself with entertainment. Can't do that anymore with exam around the corner. So while I ponder about "plurality" and invasion of our society's "epistomological space", sometimes my mind wonder off to other less profound matters, to questions which I don't have the answer to...

EVENT 1

Since I'm back, I've been taking the opportunity to meet up with my friends. So the other day I was driving to meet my friend FK and I decided to take the back roads because every public holiday, the main roads near my house will definitely be piling up with traffic.

Passing through the housing area, suddenly this dog ran out onto the road right in front of me. I hit the breaks immediately and bump! For a second, I was wondering if the dog was pinned under the wheel. It was then that I caught sight of the dog pawing my rear tyre and that was my cue to accelerate immediately.

I did catch a glimpse of it limping away but I'm not really sure though. I'm just awfully glad it was still alive and mobile. Honestly, I was more than happy to be on my way after nearly receiving a heart attack.



EVENT 2

I arrived at FK's place without any unwanted canine attention and he brought me to this mamak near his house. Once there, we both ordered our food. Mee goreng and teh tarik for him while roti pisang and limau ais for me.

Our drinks arrived moments later while his mee goreng arrived in less than 5 minutes. Very efficient service, we thought.

15 minutes later
Still no sign of my roti.

At 40 minutes
Still roti-less, I decided to order nasi goreng pataya. We decided that (if) roti arrives, we'll just share.

At the 50 minute
Finally we saw the cook reach over for a banana, peeling off the skin.... and biting into it. The damn idiot was snacking on a banana and my roti pisang still hasn't been served yet!

An hour later
The fella reach for another banana and this time, we didn't get our hopes out. However, he did cut it up and made my damn roti. And it wasn't even nice.... BTW, FK's mee goreng was already cold by the time we started eating. Told him not wait but he insisted. So nice of him eh.

Oh, before I forget, the nasi pataya didn't arrive either. As I was finishing up the last few pieces of my roti, FK went to pay up and we both dashed out immediately. I'm never going back there.

After not having been home for almost two month, I've been taking this holiday to catch up on most things internet related.

One of them is checking my overflowing emails. Although I try my best to check my mailbox as often as possible, there is one spam filled mailbox which I tend to ignore most of the time, my hotmail account.

To those of you who don't go that far back with me, my hotmail account is my very first email account.... or the very first that I still remember. Anyway, after so many years of irresponsible use, it's bound to gather more than its fair share of unnecessary solicitations for miracle oitnments that can do everything from lengthening my little brother to going up a cup size and even acting as pheromones to attract men, women, elephants as well as giant pythons.

Since I was online and pretty much bored out of my mind, I decided to get in touch with my faithful hotmail only to be told that my account has been deactivated because I haven't logged in for the past 30 days! The result of which is that all the contents have been deleted, every single piece of mail.

Now, I may not use that account much anymore but at the very least, it has sentimental value to me. All those love letters, incriminating evidences of paedophiles and exchanges with my Indonesian penpal. So many memories, all gone now. I wish I had to chance to reread all those mails I sent out to all sorts of ppl all over the world. I remember being very nervous when I wrote these strangers but nonetheless, their replies were always friendly and polite. I remember making sure the spelling and grammar to be absolutely perfect just so I don't make a fool of myself but never actually know for sure if I did. I remember trying to sound much older and mature than I really was so I wouldn't be treated like a kid.

It's all too late now and I wish it didn't happen.

I was out for dinner with my dad and considering I had instant noodles this afternoon - due to the fact that I couldn't find anyone to have lunch with and then it rained when I actually gave up on waiting - I made my mind to have some Nasi Kandar.

When I got to the store, there was another customer and the waitress was attending to her. She was busy writing down her orders and when the customer went off, she finally looked up at me. For a moment, she just looked blank, before breaking into a half-smile, you know, the kind of stunned looking smile.

And as I placed my order, she continued staring at me with that smile etched on her face and when she finally didn't say a word after I finished, I just motioned to where I sat and naturally, gave her a smile.

Well, there can only be one explanation for that. Must be my stunning good looks.

Good hair days are so fun, lol.

It would have made my day had it ended there but no, she was all frowns when she delivered the food. Hot one minute, cold the next. Girls are just so difficult to understand.

But it's ok, reactions don't lie. Gosh, must go back there again, lol.

It's been more than a month since my last posting and my apologies to everyone for not writing sooner.

Truth is, I just didn't feel like writing. Coupled with a hectic schedule and a different routine, I just didn't feel like updating my blog hurriedly in between appointments. Now that I'm finally home on study break, I think I owe it to myself (and everyone out there reading this) to sit my skinny ass (yes, I do have one) down and write something, anything.

In these past few months, I must have written a dozen articles in between my research paper. The plight of the poor, the Indonesian inefficiency and our suffering (haze/smog) and the rising cost of caskets, just to name a few. It's about time I finally wrote about something I'm wildly passionate about, myself.

I could write about how my hair has grown 3 inches since the last time I wrote about it but I won't do that. Instead, I'll interest you in hair on another part of my anatomy. *ahem*

So I got home yesterday about 9pm and went for dinner with my dad. During dinner, he suddenly asked me a very weird question.

Dad: How do you shave in KL?

Me: *While gorging on wanton noodles* I, umm, have a, umm, razor. *slurp* *slurp*

Dad: Oh, then you must remember to lather on before you shave else you nick yourself. Do you do that? You must get shaving foam or some gel.......

Me: *Empty plate* Yea, yea. I do that. Don't worry.

Dad, I got the not-so-subtle hint. I'll go shave lar..... So much for my 5 o'clock shadow....
