In Frame

I've been fooling around with my camera since I've bought it last week but I haven't had the time to clean up all the pictures. Here's a preview of some shots I've taken recently.

Taken on the first day of purchase to commemorate the event

My take on a banana tree in campus

I actually spent one evening learning my camera and experimenting with it in the park and the above shot was one of the good ones - there weren't many, lol.

However, these shots below are some I really like. Not because they're amazing but because I had a great time. Becky finally's back from UK, and Ben's back as well. It's not everyday we can get so many of us together.

Anyway it was also a great chance for me to tinker around with the camera. I took all the shots below without flash at ISO 200 and it was really really noisy. Luckily at low resolutions, it's not very evident. If I had gotten that Nikon D50, the pictures would have been a lot different. Unfortunately, with the size of that thing, I wouldn't be taking it around either, lol

Nuff with the talking, here's the goods!

Me with CP and her short hair

Ben looking con______ed (it's an inside joke, hehe)

One of the few pics I have with Anand

The girls doing what they do best

Two ppl who hasn't seen each other in a long time

In retrospect, the pictures don't look that great... Think next time, just take the conventional approach and use the darn flash.

That's all peeps, me going back to KL d. Next month gonna be really interesting for me. Gonna get a new comp, then streamyx, and my life will be great.

PS. I'll send you guys the pics next time k. Don't worry, I won't forget!

PPS. I don't care the pictures are out of the border! I'm leaving in 1/2 h0ur and have yet to pack nor shower. Anyway I need blog redesign!! The current one is too small for pictures. Any volunteers??

Chilling

Me home but absolutely nothing to blog about. Maybe later tonight I will post some pictures. In a while gonna go out yumcha wif a bunch of friends. Think will bring camera to snap snap, hahaha.

Pictures coming later!

On second thought, there is something to rant about. My relatives just came and the first thing they said to me was, "You lost weight!!"

Damn them. Why is that always the exact phrase uttered by everyone when they see me??? I swear it's a conspiracy theory...

Sigh, I think I should just accept my fate, that I am a skeleton, always and forever. I guess the sooner I give up on the hope that I might just bloat up one fine day, the faster I will move on with my life instead of waiting for the day to come.

No more waiting for new clothes.

But nonetheless, the bottomline is, I'm actually ok with being thin. I've been thin all my life so it's really nothing new. And looking at the gene pool, I will probably will remain the same for the rest of my life.

Coincidence

Long day today. Came out at 830am this morning and will only be going after I finish my class at 11pm. I do have a few hours break in between, hence I'm sitting here typing this.

I did a good deed today though. As I was driving into the parking lot, I saw this coursemate of mine - which I hardly know - driving away. The problem was, his bag was on the roof of his car!

Sensing an accident - or at the very least, an embarressing situation - waiting to happen, I immediately honked at him, rolled down the window and informed him of his blunder. He thanked me sheepishly and I felt very good having helped someone.

However, I did make a small error today. In fact, it happened minutes ago. Noticing a friend online, I quickly sent him a message. Only when I received the weird replies that I realised something was amiss. Instead, I had mistaken this person I haven't spoken to in years as my friend!

So I did the most honest thing I could. I told him I just wanted to say hi and I've got to go RIGHT AWAY because my house is on fire and my cat is threatening to commit suicide if I ignore her any longer.

What can I say, I'm an animal person.

Till then, counting the minutes till Fri.

Idle Days

Me killing time in comp lab again waiting for lecturer to grace us with her presence. It's been a long month, and not once did I think about going home.

But that feeling ended yesterday cuz when the feeling hits, it comes on very strong.

I CAN'T WAIT TO GET HOME!

And the fact that I have a class on Fri pisses me off!!!

Miss the comforts of home, and I miss hanging out with my frens.

Initially, I didn't intend to blog in the comp lab but a few frens on MSN egged me on to write something and coupled with the fact that I really need to vent my thoughts, I figured "what the hell".

Oh, a quick update on what's happened lately. Errm, went to lots of boring classes most of which I'd rather not have to attend but must anyway. Also plenty of stupid asgmts which I'd rather ignore but can't because I'm not the type to fuck up when I don't have to. Unfortunately, I tend to have a slightly obsessive habit of stressing over my asgmts that it's slowly killing me.

Now that we've got all the bad things out of the way, I can finally concentrate on telling the happy stuff.

Me got a camera last week, the Panasonic something - 7, which is a superzoom. I had earlier planned to get the Nikon D50 but changed my mind at the last minute due to a number of reasons. Let's hope I've got no regrets.

Again, can't wait to get home this weekend. Planning to meet with Becky, CP, Benedict, Jill and etc.

Lecturer finally here. Will updated again on Wed.

Football Fever

Me in comp lab now, killing time till my 5-7pm class followed by 8-11pm.

Anyway World Cup is finally over and I stayed up late to catch the match to arrive fashionably late the next day for my class which was incidentally canceled anyway.

The question on the minds of everyone who's following the World Cup (and some who didn't) is why the hell did Zidane do it?

This is an excerpt of Marco Materazzi's comment - the player on the receiving end of the head butt - from the London Free Press.

"I held his shirt for a few seconds only, then he turned round and spoke to me, sneering," the Italian defender said. "He looked me up and down arrogantly and said, 'If you really want my shirt, I'll give it to you afterward.' "

Well, it's rather obvious isn't it. First the caressing shirt-pulling followed by the offer to strip. If you ask me, he must have accused Zidane of being gay. It is afterall, the ultimate put down.

I can just imagine the headlines now - Zidane offended that Materazzi turned down his sexual solicitations and decided to give him head!

Ps. This post is meant to humour. I have a lot of respect for Zizou and is terribly pissed at Materazzi, whatever it was that he said.

Now and Then

I'm feeling sad because I will be leaving back to KL tomorrow morning. This always happens to me whenever I go back to uni, I'm such a hopeless case. I feel so weak being this way and I can't figure why I am so useless. Heck, it's only 200 freaking kilometres, not like it's all the way across the pacific. My dearest sisters were all so much stronger than I am, they still are.

My head knows that this is inevitable. Every bird needs to leave its nest. But somehow, my heart is not making it easy for me.

When I tink about the future, there is so much uncertainty. So many things to wonder and worry about. Being an adult really is no fun.

It's funny when I think about it.

At 15, I was mature beyond my years. At 21, I am just nothing more than a wreck.

Superman Loopy Returns

After 5 years of absence, the man of steel once again makes his debut by saving damsel in distress, Lois Lane.

It's a bird, it's a plane, it's Loopy!

The portion below shall remain relatively spoiler free unless specifically stated.

Haha, I'm still experiencing the euphoria of Superman Returns and I can tell you right here and now that it's a damn good movie. Worth every ringgit you're gonna spend for it even if you go for Gold Class. Forget about what all the detractors have said about the movie and listen to Loopy k. Afterall, Loopy's hips Loopy never lies.

I may not be a professional movie critic but in my very unprofessional opinion, it's a really good movie one should never miss. Where else are you going to see a buff guy in a blue rubber suit and red spandex lifting the world *literally* with his bare arms? Or said buff guy rolling on the ground getting down and dirty??

If you like this movie, you should really thank director Bryan Singer wh0's vision has made it so remarkable. Just like acting, not many people realise that directing is actually not an easy thing to do - directing a good and polished production that is. Blair Witch Project could have been done by 5 year olds. Mr. Singer's other achievements include X-Men I and II which he had done an equally tremendous job. I believe any aspiring filmmaker would look up to his work and revere his skills.

As for the movie itself, I do have a few observations which I am going to share with everyone.

1. In the opening scene, pay attention to Mr. Brandon Routh aka Superman's eye lashes. They're really full and long! Really!!

2. During air turbulences, some girls - maybe just a particular one - can bang their head on every corner of the plane and still come out with picture perfect hair.

3. Even with tight red spandex, Superman never needs to adjust his package. Not even once! Scenes of him strutting with said underwear is aplenty but not a single one of him making himself more comfortable. They must be Calvin's, only dyed red.

4. Superman has good morals. He only uses his X-ray vision to secretly spy on his crush and check for broken bones / ruptured blood vessels (so boring dry antiseptic). Not once did he visually undress someone.

5. Admittedly, Superman has voyueristic tendencies. He's even a chronic eavesdropper. At least agent Ethan Hunt only read lips. Bad boy!

6. Super heroes were all picked on/had trouble fitting in when they were young. Spiderman, Batman and even Superman. I can just see myself in 5 yrs. No cape for me though.

7. Guess which camera company has a product placement in the movie?? The neckstrap was strategically adorned in the first scene while the second has a photographer fervently snapping away with their camera.

8. Clark Kent uses wax/hair spray on his hair while Superman gels his. He really has his whole image down. Even the not so subtle curls for Superman. I bet that's why nobody has ever suspected his secret identity. No guy *straight* uses two different type of hair products.

9. Superman has big feet. I mean really big feet!!

Spoiler Alert

10. In the very end, I can't imagine Clark didn't immediately pay his mom a visit to let her know he survived the wrath of Lex Luthor. NOOOO, he goes looking for his mistress and illegitimate child. Sure, "Mom I'm still alive" is not as dramatic and romanticised as "Will we be seeing you again?" "I will always be around." but it's what a filial son is expected to do! Heck, isn't this a wholesome movie? Parents should ban their kids from watching this movie by inculcating bad values.

11. If you have asthma, go for a paternity test. Chances are, your mom has slept with Superman.

Anyway, I find the fact that Superman had had sex rather disturbing. And the fact that some girl would sleep with a super hero without asking for his real name even more so... How was it?? Did they do it in the air? Was there super fast thrusting? Was it super hard? Super big? So many questions to be answered!!! Sequel!
